Lucky # 13
…what does it mean to you?...
Going into our session I was feeling vibes to invite abundance, and chose some music and altar elements to support that, then drew our opening session card.
From Sandra Anne Taylor’s “Energy Oracle Cards” deck we received #13 FINANCIAL CONSTRAINTS, upright (image and book description below – though today the message is quite a different twist on what was originally documented).
For a moment this felt to be a surprising discord – though of course the two go hand in hand… and looking closer at the altar there is a greater message to abundance. A surrounding distraction of all the “shiny things”, a heart-centered life-bursting of angel wings and coming into power, and a reminder to balance with Mama Earth, with Mother Nature, and with all the creatures we’ve been gifted to live beside and learn from.
I recently heard a reminder around money – that it goes where it is invited, and stays where it feels welcome. Our card’s image of the safe with cobwebs reminds us that a safe full of money is not abundance! If we treasure something and lock it away we are stagnant and still in the energy of restriction and fear. To “be with” all we’ve been gifted, to honor and use and feel gratitude in spending and sharing, is so much more powerful than to claim ownership and possession; to be stuck in the energy of control – or feared loss.
Receiving this with the number 13 further exemplifies the energy of fear.
Clearing and stabilizing a sense of safety in abundance is deep Root Chakra work. Yet the grip of these limiting beliefs also feels like a vice on the Heart. I held Reiki in focus at these two energy centers with an emphasis on inviting movement and flow. Trusting that to be in abundance is to be ever moving, ever exchanging, and ever thankful. Honoring the cycles. Seeing humanity in all you encounter and cultivating the heart-space toward compassion and a desire to share what you have. Fostering belief in the Universal Principle that what you give out comes back to you three-fold, and often in incredible ways beyond expectations of your belief. This too is a gift: to experience the energies of awe and random bliss.
Visualize yourself opening your door to find a bouquet of flowers, a bag of groceries, or an unexpected check, and let your heart radiate on that joy of surprise. Further invite visualizations of moving freely and comfortably, of breathing deeply and easily, of speaking clearly and authentically – and being heard, fully received. For the trust in abundance of everything you need and want is layers and layers beyond monetary creations and symbolism.
I called in Dragon Energy and entities for magical support, swirling in gold and silver trails, and showering the session in particles of glowing ruby light. Juniper Berry and Citrus Bliss (blend) essential oils added guidance. The sweet and spicy aspects of crystalized sugar and healing ginger brought balance and grace.
What can you give someone to start the flow today? A smile, a held-open door, a reassuring hug? When we pay it forward with random acts of kindness from our precious energy in ways like these, we are also receiving the resulting energetic uplift from giving support. This is Divine and rewarding – as powerful and transformative as much larger gestures.
The Reiki embracing our Heart and our Root has integrated many layers, allowing waves of relaxation to retrain our past-built fears and trepidation. There is a buoyancy of rising trust now penetrating the higher Chakras. Let your mind be an envoy to connect you to transformation through these reframed ideas of abundance, a short-cut utilizing your power to connect quickly to your Third Eye’s all-knowing vision and your Crown’s spiritual truths.
We close with a further energetic balancing. A full system sweep and refresh, to let Reiki carry away that which has been released – all which is no longer serving us – and fertilize the new seeds of ideas we’ve opened to integration today. Imagine yourself watering, honoring, and nurturing the sprouting we’ve welcomed, and hold faith in the coming harvest of abundance rooted throughout your soul.

Restrictions Concerning Money
Upright
This card shows an old-fashioned safe with a little money but lots of cobwebs and dust. Money may be tight at this time, so reign in your spending and be circumspect about the financial requirements in your life. This is not a time of indulgence, so be aware of what’s really important and consciously choose your expenditures.
There’s a big difference between what you need and what you want. This card is telling you to take care of your needs and bide your time. Things will get better, but for now be willing to live more conservatively; and always value the money and good things you already have.
Affirmation: I can move through any cycle with dignity and awareness. I am open to receiving increasing wealth. Money moves to and through my life, bringing benefits to all.
